Alpe d’Huez versus Alpe d’Zwift
I was diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer in May 2003. Since then, I’ve focused on staying health and having a postive mental outlook. Cycling has been – and continues to be – a key element in my personal survival program.
A vacation with my wife in 2009 took us to Le Bourg-d’Oisans in France which, as you might know, is at the base of the climb to Alpe d’Huez. [A nifty bit of planning:-)]. I went to a local bicycle shop, rented a bike, and up we went. Check out my tourist picture in the right sidebar. Woo-hoo!
I use Zwift 2-3 times per week when I don’t have time to get outside before work. I love the guys at Global Cycling Network and I ran across the video below as they compare an actual on-the-bike climb of Alpe d’Huez with the Zwift version. I’m going to try it and see what happens!
Allez!!
